Precious Angel

Julie is my precious angel. Since the moment she was born, she has made me melt. I have told her many times how I marveled at her perfect, elegant tiny fingers when she was one minute old. They are still perfect. She doesn’t have to do a thing to make me melt. It is automatic. She’s beautiful …

She has grit. She is tough. For two years in a row, she won her fantasy football league (and the prize money). All of the others in her league were males. Ouch! I think she retired this year to grant them mercy. Generally speaking, if you are playing a game and you want to win, you should be on Julie’s team.

She is a cool chick. She gave her husband the genuine components to make a sazerac for his birthday. Most don’t know what a sazerac is.

She has courage. When she lost a student election in high school, she ran again. That’s more guts than I had as a high schooler. I helped her make campaign buttons. That is my only experience in politics.

I encouraged my kids to study abroad to learn another language. Luke went to Argentina. He learned Spanish. Julie got a scholarship enabling her to go to Australia. She learned Australian. She speaks it fluently.

She is a great photographer. See below photos of the next generation of precious angels (her daughters Hadley and Norah). She and Evan pick cool names.

She is spiritually solid and centered. I love to watch her interact with others. She focuses on them, not herself. Evan helps preserve that by taking good care of her.

So, in conclusion, I guess I would simply say, “Thank You, God, for Julie.
